Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on Adeline Street in Berkeley
BERKELEY, CA (September 14, 2019) – One person was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Saturday evening in Berkeley, authorities said.
The incident happened around 10:22 p.m. on Adeline Street near the Ashby BART station.
Police along with paramedics responded to the site after receiving reports of a body underneath a vehicle. When they arrived, they found the person lying in the street with fatal injuries.
The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The responsible driver that struck the victim reportedly took off and remains at large.
Berkeley police urged people to avoid Adeline Street between Ashby Avenue and Essex Street, and closed the street in both directions.
An investigation is still ongoing.
