Pickup Truck and SUV Collide Head-On in Amador Killing One Motorist
AMADOR, CA (June 10, 2019) – One person was killed following a head-on crash on Highway 49 Monday afternoon.
Authorities reported the two-vehicle collision around 3:46 p.m., on Highway 49. Dispatchers arrived to the area near Electra Road shortly after.
According to an initial report, a white full-sized pickup truck collided head-on with a small SUV for unknown reasons. Subsequently, one of the involved vehicles caught fire as a result of the impact.
Arriving emergency crews found the driver still inside the burning vehicle upon arrival. The victim was pronounced dead on scene due to the extent of their injuries. However, their identity has not yet been released to the public.
The entire roadway was closed for a brief time while an investigation was conducted in the area. However, it has since reopened.
