Head-On Crash on Highway 1 in Davenport Kills One Driver

 
DAVENPORT, CA (August 1, 2019) – One person was killed following a head-on crash on Highway 1 Sunday afternoon in Davenport.
 
The crash happened around 2:28 p.m. just north of Scott Creek Bridge. According to the CHP, a young man was driving a black sedan when he lost control while passing on the right shoulder, crashing head-on with another vehicle.
 
Paramedics arrived and transported both drivers to a hospital, one of them did not survive and was pronounced dead.
 
The roadway closed until after 5:45 p.m. while the investigation was being conducted, according to the CHP. However, after police cleared the area of debris and evidence, the roadway reopened.
