One Killed in Head-On Crash on 5 Freeway at County Road 57 [WILLOWS, CA]

Car Crashes Head-On with Semi Truck on 5 Freeway in Willows, Fatality Reported

 
WILLOWS, CA (August 23, 2019) – One person was killed following a head-on crash early Friday morning in Willows.
 
The crash happened around 12:35 a.m. along the northbound lanes of 5 Freeway near the County Road 57 exit.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Honda Accord had crossed over the center divider for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a semi truck.
 
Officials along with paramedics responded to the scene. An air ambulance was then requested to transport one patient to a hospital.
 
Sadly, officials confirmed one fatality as a result of the crash. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
The crash prompted officials to close both northbound lanes of 5 Freeway while they investigated the incident.
