Head-On Crash on Ramona Expressway in San Jacinto Kills 1 Driver
SAN JACINTO, CA (August 12, 2019) – One person died following a head-on crash early Monday morning on the Ramona Expressway, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 4:30 a.m. near Bridge Street. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, a green Hyundai sedan headed westbound on the expressway when it crossed over the centerline and struck a white Chevrolet sedan head-on.
As a result, the unidentified Chevrolet driver died at the scene.
An ambulance unit took the Hyundai driver to a hospital with moderate injuries, fire officials said.
No other injuries were reported.
The Ramona Expressway remained closed between Bridge Street and Warren Road as of 10:00 a.m., creating traffic problems for morning commuters heading west out of San Jacinto and Hemet.
