Vehicle Overturns and Catches Fire on Highway 149 in Oroville, Fatality Reported
OROVILLE, CA (August 31, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a fiery crash early Saturday morning in Oroville.
The crash happened around 12:00 a.m. on southbound Highway 149 at Openshaw Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling recklessly when it went off the roadway. It then overturned down an embankment, where it caught fire.
As a result, at least one occupant died at the scene. A coroner’s personnel was immediately notified to pick up the victim’s remains.
No identifying information is being released at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
