Car Catches Fire on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa, Fatality Reported
SANTA ROSA, CA (December 22, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a fiery crash on Highway 101 late Sunday afternoon in Santa Rosa.
The crash happened around 5:13 p.m., on Highway 101 near River Road. First responders arrived to the area shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls about the collision.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a gold sedan was traveling north on the highway when it veered off the right shoulder. It then struck a fence before traveling down a ditch and catching fire.
California Police Officers arrived to the scene and found at least one fatal victim as a result of the accident. However, the identity of the deceased was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
Moreover, the details and events leading up to the fiery collision are currently unclear.
