Fatal Fiery Crash on 80 Freeway in Berkeley
BERKELEY, CA (December 25, 2019) – One person was killed following a fiery crash Wednesday morning in Berkeley.
The crash happened around 5:22 a.m. on westbound 80 Freeway at Gilman Street off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle had crashed on the freeway and caught fire. One occupant, believed to be the driver of the car, was trapped inside.
First responders pronounced that person dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
CHP officials closed all freeway lanes while they investigated the crash.
