Driver Dies after Crashing Pickup Truck into Tree on Highway 88 in Pioneer
PIONEER, CA (August 6, 2019) – One person was killed following a traffic collision Tuesday morning in Pioneer.
The collision happened around 9:31 a.m. on Highway 88 at Salt Springs Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a GMC Sierra 1500 collided into a tree for unknown reasons. The driver suffered major injuries as a result of the accident.
Responding paramedics transported the driver to a hospital, but the victim did not survive and was declared dead.
The pickup truck sustained major front-end damage with missing passenger side rear wheel. Towing services were requested to remove the vehicle from the crash site.
No identifying information is being released at this time. Further investigation is underway.
