Vehicle Crashes into Center Divider on Highway 101 in Carpinteria Killing One
CARPINTERIA, CA (September 14, 2019) – One person was killed following a traffic accident Saturday morning on Highway 101 in Carpinteria.
The crash took place at 6:34 a.m. near the Linden Avenue exit in the Caltrans construction zone.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle had crashed into the center divider on southbound Highway 101 and landed on its side. Law enforcement officials responded to the scene and found one fatality as a result of the crash.
The identity of the person who died was not immediately available.
Officials closed the southbound lanes of Highway 101 for several hours while they investigated the incident. All lanes were reopened roughly around 8:45 a.m.
