Fatal Car Accident on Highway 223 in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 28, 2019) – One person died following a car accident Friday morning on Highway 223 in Bakersfield.
Police reported the crash at 7:49 a.m. along the westbound Highway 223 on-ramp near 5 Freeway.
Arriving units located a blue Toyota Prius abandoned at the crash site. The car appeared to have went off the shoulder and into a barbed wire fence.
A coroner was dispatched to the scene and confirmed one fatality. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending family notification.
Authorities suspected the crash as a possible suicide. However, police did not reveal any other information regarding the car accident at this time. In addition, police are continueing the investigation into the accident.
