Car Crashes Center Divider on 880 Freeway in San Leandro Killing One

 
SAN LEANDRO, CA (September 1, 2019) – One person was killed in a car accident Sunday evening in San Leandro, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 7:25 p.m. on northbound 880 Freeway, just south of Floresta Boulevard overcrossing.
 
CHP officials responded to the scene and located a blue Mercedes sedan that had crashed into the center divider.
 
Paramedics also arrived and transported one patient to an area hospital, where the unidentified victim was pronounced dead.
 
CHP officers issued a SigAlert at 7:45 p.m., blocking the first and second lanes until after 9:00 p.m. while crews cleared the scene.
 
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
