Driver Dies after Crashing into Guardrail and Tree on 805 Freeway in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 21, 2019) – One person was killed after a car accident late Monday evening in San Diego, CHP officials said.
The fatal crash happened around 11:30 p.m. off the southbound 805 Freeway transition ramp to southbound 15 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray Hyundai sedan went about 30 feet off the freeway. It then struck a guardrail and a tree.
Emergency crews pulled the driver from the mangled car and pronounced him dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
The CHP is still piecing together exactly what led up to the crash but do not believe any other vehicles were involved.
