One Killed in Big Rig and Car Crash on 215 Freeway at Cactus Avenue [MORENO VALLEY, CA]

Collision with Big Rig on 215 Freeway in Moreno Valley Turns Deadly

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (June 20, 2019) – One person was killed following a traffic collision involving a big rig and a car Thursday evening in Moreno Valley.
 
The collision happened around 8:24 p.m., on southbound 215 Freeway. Dispatchers arrived just north of Cactus Avenue shortly after.
 
A witness told officers that an SUV lost control and collided with the big rig as result. The impact caused both vehicles to flip over. The big rig landed on its side, while the SUV overturned on the center divider.
 
The driver of the big rig was pronounced dead at the scene. However, their identity has not yet been released.
 
The extent of any additional injuries were not immediately available.
 
A SigAlert was issued, blocking the freeway in both directions for about two hours while evidence from the scene was collected and photographed.
