Passenger Dies in Morning Crash on Conejo Avenue in Selma
SELMA, CA (August 29, 2019) – One person was killed following a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Selma, CHP officials said.
The crash happened around 5:38 a.m. at the intersection of Conejo and Temperance avenues.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a gold Nissan Sentra attempted to make a turn from Conejo when it collided with an oncoming Chevrolet pickup truck.
As a result, the passenger in the Nissan died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the Nissan driver to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was unharmed, according to the CHP.
Conejo Avenue was closed between Fowler and Temperance avenues for a few hours as officials work to clear the scene.
Further investigation is underway.
