Car Driver Flees After Fatal Collision near Jackson Avenue
SAN JOSE, CA (November 19, 2019) – One person died in a hit-and-run crash on Alum Rock Avenue on Tuesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened near the intersection of Jackson Avenue at approximately 10:12 PM.
Reports showed that a 1999 Honda sedan traveling eastbound on Alum Rock hit a 2016 Tesla that traveled northbound on Jackson. The Honda then hit a 2019 Dodge Durango causing a pile-up collision.
Two passengers in the Honda were sent to the hospital, where one died due to severe injuries. The passenger’s name was not yet known. The other victim was treated for major injuries.
The driver of the Honda fled the scene after the incident, while the drivers of the other cars remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
An investigation is on-going.
