Woman and Her Dog Dead in Westlake Village Fiery Accident
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA (April 14, 2019)– A woman and her dog died following a fiery crash in the Westlake Village area on Thursday, April 11.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 2:30 p.m. on the Lindero Canyon Road off-ramp from the northbound 101 Freeway.
Authorities said that the vehicle veered off a freeway off-ramp. Then crashed into a tree causing it caught fire.
A Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher stated that when officers and rescue crews arrived, they found the vehicle engulfed in flames. They extinguished the fire, then extricated the victim from the wreckage.
Paramedics confirmed the deaths of both the female driver and the dog at the scene. They are the vehicle’s only occupants.
The CHP issued a Sig Alert for the off-ramp during their investigation.
