Woman Fatally Injured after Car Collides into Pole near Glen Arbor Road
BEN LOMOND, CA (October 17, 2018) – On Wednesday morning, one person was killed in a car crash on Highway 9. The victim was only identified as a 52-year-old woman from Boulder Creek. Her name and place of residence were not immediately disclosed to the public, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the solo-vehicle collision took place at approximately 9:26 AM in the southbound lanes of the highway, just north of Glen Arbor Road.
The report showed that the victim’s 2006 Ford Freestyle veered from the southbound lane and crossed into the northbound lane where it left the roadway and crashed into a nearby utility pole. Due to the impact of the collision, the pole was sheared into two and fell on top of the car.
One of the two occupants in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The condition of the other passenger, a 46-year-old man, is unknown as the investigation continues.
The car blocked the road with utility wires attached. The road was shut down in the area during the cleanup and investigation, and was reopened shortly after. No additional information has been released to the public by the Montebello Police Department.
