1 Hurt and 3 Police Cars Damaged in San Diego Car Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 23, 2019) – A person was injured while three police cars sustained damages after chasing a driver through Point Loma on January 21.
The police chase began when a San Diego police officer tried to pull over an SUV at 1:20 a.m. in the Point Loma Heights neighborhood. However, the driver did not stop, the San Diego Police Department officials revealed.
Authorities added that there were two other police officers who helped in the chase, but their patrol cars crashed with each other while making a U-turn.
The chase ended when the SUV driver collided into a different patrol car and a parked sedan on the road. The 45-year-old male suspect was detained on suspicion of DUI, felony evading and hit-and-run, police reported.
Reports revealed that the driver of the sedan was placing Lime scooters on the sidewalk when the SUV driver collided into his car. He sustained injuries but did not want any medical treatment.
