One Injured in Pursuit Crash on Southeast 192nd Street [Renton, WA]

Renton, WA (April 27, 2023) – On Thursday, a person sustained injuries following a pursuit crash on Southeast 192nd Street.

The King County dispatch team received a 911 call just minutes before 5 a.m. It was about a burglary at a home at the corner of 127th Place and Southeast 189th Street.

“While en route, King County deputies spotted a car fleeing the scene, a short pursuit ensued where the vehicle crashed (into a car with) two occupants,” said King County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Eric White.

The 2-vehicle collision took place near Southeast 192nd Street and 106th Avenue Southeast.

Chavela Johnson stated that her parents were in the car that the suspects struck. According to her, they were on their way to a hospital when the suspects pushed their vehicle off the road. Then, a man get out of the vehicle and run, but was quickly apprehended by police.

Johnson complained of pain. She was transported to Virginia Mason Medical Center.

One person has been arrested while another suspect is still at large. 

Officers recovered a stolen during the search and White said the vehicle the suspects were driving was also stolen.

The authorities are investigating.
