Nicholas Stratton Arrested in Spokane Valley Crash Injuring Another Driver
Spokane Valley, WA (June 11, 2021) – On Tuesday, a driver was injured and police arrested 19-year-old Nicholas Stratton, of Spokane Valley, in a hit-and-run crash on Mansfield Avenue.
The accident took place at about 4 p.m. at the intersection of Mirabeau Parkway.
Apparently, an officer saw a reportedly stolen white Ford pickup that was westbound on Indiana Avenue approaching Pines Road.
The officer turned on his lights and siren and tried to pull over the pickup.
However, instead of pulling over, Stratton, the driver sped up on Montgomery Avenue, through a roundabout and drove over curbs and turned onto Jackson Road.
Consequently, the officer lost track of the vehicle.
A short time later another deputy saw the truck followed it.
Due to the dangerous nature of the situation, the officer stopped chasing.
Not long after, another deputy saw the truck crashed into another car at Mansfield Avenue. Then, the truck rolled over.
Immediately, Stratton climbed out of the wrecked truck and tried to flee from the scene.
The authorities were able to chase and arrest him.
Meanwhile, the other vehicle’s driver incurred minor injuries.
Stratton was treated at a local hospital before the authorities booked him into the Spokane County Jail.
He faces charges of theft of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude law enforcement, hit and run, driving under the influence, obstructing and making false statements to law enforcement.
His bail is set at $25,250.
Always abide by the traffic rules and be a responsible driver.
Dealing With Crash Injuries
Furthermore, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said that two out of three motorists will be a part of an injury accident during their life. Knowing what to do in case you find yourself involved in a traffic collision is really a must.
As a matter of fact, roadways, while scrupulously created and mapped for efficient travel, are one of the most dangerous settings.
That is why the most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney.
Personal injury attorneys prioritize your recovery while securing your future from further losses a severe accident can bring.
Thus, “hiring the right firm, who has the resources to spend, can make all the difference between getting justice for a client,” says Mark Sweet, a personal injury attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
