Injury in Hit-and-Run Crash on West 5th Street
Chico, CA (December 18, 2021) – On Thursday, officers arrested 26-year-old Keith Rector in a DUI crash on West 5th Street that resulted in an injury.
Apparently, a black sedan struck the pedestrian who was crossing the intersection of Cherry Street and then drove away.
Responding officers rushed the victim to the hospital in extremely critical condition and underwent emergency surgery.
Then, 20 minutes later, Rector, still driving the black sedan, went back to the accident scene and admitted that he was the suspect driver.
Officers arrested Keith Rector for felony DUI and felony hit-and-run with bail set at $100,000.
Police said Rector’s occupation is a firefighter. They are working to find which agency he works for.
Never drink and drive. Be a responsible driver to avoid accidents.
