One Hospitalized in Interstate 5 Crash

Ferndale, WA (February 17, 2022) – On February 16, a person sustained injuries in an Interstate 5 rollover collision.

Officers responded to the crash scene at about 7:40 a.m. to the southbound freeway, north of the Portal Way interchange.

Investigators said a vehicle was merging right to left. As a result, another vehicle made an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision. The driver overcorrected and drove the vehicle into the median. It returned to southbound lanes and collided with a pickup truck that ended up on its side in the median.

Luckily, all occupants of the vehicles were able to get out.

Moreover, the emergency responders took one person to a hospital with non-fatal injuries. They transported the victim via a medic unit via advanced life support protocols (ALS) to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.

Meanwhile, the authorities said a citation will be served.

Avoid distractions. Did you know that distracted driving includes more than using your phone? Your eyes should be on the road at all times.

Anything that takes your eyes off the road like eating, getting something from your bag, interacting with passengers, applying makeup, shaving, etc are all types of distracted driving.
