Ridgecrest Hit-and-Run Crash Injures One, Devin McLaughlin Arrested
Ridgecrest, CA (May 20, 2021) – On Thursday, one was injured and police arrested 22-year-old Devin McLaughlin in a hit-and-run crash on California Avenue.
The accident happened at around 8 p.m. at the Sunland Street intersection.
Apparently, officers received a crash report wherein McLaughlin was involved.
The caller provided a detailed description of McLaughlin and the injuries he suffered in the accident.
A little later, McLaughlin reported to the police that his car was stolen and have possibly been involved in a collision. Officers met McLaughlin at a mobile home.
Surprisingly, McLaughlin matched the description of the hit-and-run suspect.
As a result, the authorities arrested him.
However, inside the patrol car, McLaughlin began acting erratically and head-butted the divider cage. To prevent further harm, the police removed him from the car.
That is when McLaughlin kicked an officer in the face.
Later on, the officers took McLaughlin to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital where he was cleared for his injuries.
They booked him at the Central Receiving Facility (CRF) in Bakersfield for these charges: DUI Causing Great Bodily Injury, Hit and Run Causing Injury, Resist Officer w/ Violence, and Resist/Obstruct Officer in Performance of Duties.
