Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Vehicle in Collision near Hacienda Avenue
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (September 14, 2018) – One person was hospitalized Friday evening, after a pedestrian crash on Palm Drive. The victim’s identity and place of residence were not immediately released to the public.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 7:15 PM near Hacienda Avenue. Officials with the Desert Hot Springs Police Department stated that the victim was struck by an unidentified vehicle in the roadway.
It was not yet clear whether or not the accident occurred in a designated crosswalk.
The medics said that the pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital and was listed in serious condition. The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigation conducted by the police. Palm Drive, between Hacienda and Ironwood, was closed for hours as officers investigated the scene. No further details have been disclosed at this time.
