Speeding Leads to Early Morning Crash on 15 Freeway in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 14, 2019) – One person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash early Friday morning in San Diego.
The crash happened just before 1:00 a.m. on southbound 15 Freeway at Aero Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with a cement pickup truck. The sedan then spun out and overturned several times, before hitting the barrier. The cement truck pulled over to the right shoulder.
The driver of the sedan was trapped inside the car and was extricated by responding firefighters. Paramedics transported the patient to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
