One Dead in Los Angeles Pedestrian Crash on 101 Freeway
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 27, 2019) – A pedestrian crash on the southbound 101 Freeway left one dead in Lost Angeles last Friday, August 23.
According to a California Highway Patrol spokesperson, the incident happened at around 2:45 a.m. between North Rampart Boulevard and North Alvarado Street.
The victim was in a vehicle traveling southbound when he got into a heated argument with a passenger in the vehicle. After that, the victim pulled over onto the freeway shoulder.
The CHP reported that the person stepped into lanes and was struck by multiple passing cars. He died at the scene.
Officials issued a SigAlert for the closure of three southbound lanes as a result of the incident and investigation.
The entire freeway reopened at around 5:30 a.m.
