One Dead after Nipomo Pedestrian Crash on Oakglen Avenue near Tefft Street
NIPOMO, CA (August 21, 2019) – One person died following a pedestrian crash on Oakglen Avenue in Nipomo on Friday, August 16.
California Highway Patrol said that a vehicle traveled northbound on Oakglen Avenue approaching Tefft Street. Simultaneously, a pedestrian was stopped on the northwest corner of the intersection waiting to cross the street. Then the vehicle made a left turn onto Tefft Street westbound while facing a green light. At the same time, the pedestrian started to walk across the street.
The vehicle struck the pedestrian and sent him flying before he hit the ground.
Emergency responders rushed the pedestrian to Marian Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
The incident is still under investigation. It is not yet determined if drugs or alcohol played a part in the incident.
