One Dies, One Injured in 71st Avenue Vehicle Crash [Phoenix, AZ]

Suspects Arrested in Phoenix Fatal Vehicle Crash

Phoenix, AZ (July 11, 2021) – On Friday, a person died while another suffered serious injuries in 71st Avenue vehicle crash.

The fatal accident took place after midnight at the intersection with Thomas Road, wherein a truck and a car were involved.

The authorities said a Chevrolet Silverado truck with two 20-year-old males was westbound on Thomas Road and turned left to head south on 71st Avenue. 

At the same time, a ford Focus occupied by a 35-year-old male driver, and 42-year-old male passenger was traveling east on Thomas Road and crashed with the Silverado.

The authorities pronounced the 42-year-old man dead at the accident scene.

On the other hand, the 35-year-old man was rushed to an area hospital for sustaining serious injuries.

Moreover, a Chevy Avalanche stopped and an adult male driver and adult male passenger got out of the vehicle to help the people injured in the accident.  The two suspects got out of the Silverado with their retrieved weapons and ammunition. Then, they got into the Avalanche and drove away before the authorities arrived.

Later on, officers located the stolen Avalanche truck about to leave a residence near 75th Avenue and Palm Lane. Accordingly, they arrested the driver, who was the passenger in the Silverado during the crash.

Officers returned to the residence and found the Silverado driver inside.  The authorities arrested him after negotiations.

Moreover, the authorities did not release any name in relation to this accident as the Phoenix Police continues to investigate.
