One Killed, Another Hurt after Prescott Truck Accident on Pioneer Parkway
PRESCOTT, AZ (October 1, 2019) – One person is dead and another injured after a truck accident on Pioneer Parkway on Friday, September 27.
The accident happened on Pioneer Parkway overpass above Highway 89 at about 1:45 p.m.
According to witnesses, the truck was being driven erratically when it went into the median. After that, it went through a cable barricade between the intersection’s two bridges, AZDPS spokesperson Bart Graves stated. Then it fell about 20 feet and landed on southbound Highway 89. This caused the truck to hit an SUV. The truck ended up on its hood, according to Grave.
The driver of the truck died at the scene. Paramedics rushed the driver of the SUV, the sole occupant of the vehicle, to Yavapai Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Officials closed southbound Highway 89 for several hours so police could investigate the incident.
