One Killed, One Hurt after Chandler Hit-and-Run Accident on Erie Street
CHANDLER, AZ (October 22, 2019) — A hit-and-run accident on Erie Street left one person dead and a child injured on Monday, October 21.
A dark-colored SUV moving northbound on Alma School Road hit two pedestrians — an adult and a 12-year-old child. The two pedestrians were crossing at Erie Street at around 5:45 p.m., Chandler Police Detective Seth Tyler stated.
The adult died at the scene. Emergency personnel rushed the child to a local hospital, according to Tyler.
Police were still looking for the vehicle which fled the scene.
The crash shut down Alma School Road in both directions, northbound at Flint Street and southbound at Galveston Street.
No other information was immediately released.
