Fatality Reported in Mojave Motorcycle Accident on Highway 58
MOJAVE, CA (December 20, 2018) – One person died after a high-speed chase involving a stolen motorcycle on Saturday, December 15.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s Mojave office, they received a tip about a motorcycle moving at a high rate of speed around 8:20 p.m. An officer discovered the motorcycle and tried to make a stop but the officer lost sight of the motorcycle. CHP stated that the motorcycle was moving at least 100 MPH.
The officer then saw the motorcycle at the intersection of Highway 58 and Highway 14 after it had collided into a guardrail.
The male operator of the motorcycle is believed to be a resident from the Lancaster area. He sustained major injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. A female passenger that was riding the motorcycle died at the scene.
