One Killed, Four Hurt after Chowchilla Two-Car Collision
CHOWCHILLA, CA (May 29, 2019) – One person died and four sustained injuries in a two-car crash crash near Chowchilla on Monday, May 27.
According to California Highway Patrol officers, just before 2 p.m., a 22-year-old male driver tried to turn left from westbound Highway 152 onto Road 13. However, he failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Another vehicle, carrying a family of four, crashed into his car.
The 22-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the scene. One person from the second vehicle was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center. Paramedics transported the other three to the hospital with minor injuries.
Officers shut down the eastbound shoulder and blocked part of one lane. Authorities notified drivers in the area to be cautious.
