Bicyclist Killed in Bishop Accident on Highway 6
BISHOP, CA (March 31, 2019) – One person died following a bicycle accident in Bishop along Highway 6 on Friday, March 29.
According to the California Highway Patrol reports, the collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Highway 6 and Chalfant Loop Road approximately 12 miles from Bishop.
The bicyclist was riding north on Highway 6 in the bicycle lane. Meanwhile, a driver from Hammil Valley was traveling east on the highway about 50 mph in a Chevrolet Impala. When the bicyclist turned in front of the car, the Impala struck the bicyclist. The victim succumbed to sustained injuries and died at the scene.
The identity of the bicyclist is being withheld pending notification of loved ones.
