Victorville, CA (August 25, 2023) On Wednesday, police arrested Omar Maya after a DUI crash on Silica Drive that hurt a woman and a child.

According to the City of Victorville Fire Department, the rear-end collision happened around 8:30 p.m. along Silica Drive near Seventh Avenue.

Reports say that a 22-year-old Omar Maya from Victorville was driving a black Honda sedan and rear-ended a silver Nissan sedan with 4 occupants inside, 2 adults, and 2 children.

Authorities say that the collision seriously injured an adult female and a minor, the adult was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, while the child was taken to Desert Valley Hospital and subsequently airlifted by Mercy Air 22 to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Officials say that the adult male and the other child refused medical transportation at the scene.

Meanwhile, officials say that Maya was charged with VC23153(A)(B) — DUI Alcohol. Officers later arrested Maya and scheduled for arraignment in a Victorville courtroom on August 25th.
