44-Year-Old Olympia Woman Dies in Interstate 5 Car Crash in Tacoma

 
Tacoma, WA (March 6. 2021) – Friday night, a 44-year-old Olympia woman died after crashing her car into the back of a Sound Transit bus in Interstate 5.
 
The Tacoma fatal crash happened at 10:22 p.m. on March 5 near South 96th Street.
 
Washington State Patrol said the bus traveled south when a Toyota Camry rear-ended it.
 
The woman driving the car then found unconscious and taken to Madigan Army Medical Center. Police confirmed she died Friday night.
 
Her identity is not yet released, pending notification of her family.
 
Meanwhile, the two bus occupants were uninjured.
 
Investigators said impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash. Further investigation is on-going.
