Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Interstate 5 in Lewis County
Lewis County, WA (January 13, 2022) – On Tuesday, an Olympia man sustained fatal injuries in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 5.
The crash happened at 11:38 p.m. near the Newaukum Golf Course south of Chehalis.
The involved driver, a 53-year-old Tacoma man, immediately called the authorities after the Washington crash.
When the officers arrived, they pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
Moreover, the investigating officers said the truck driver struck the victim while the pedestrian was walking in the left lane of the southbound freeway.
Officers do not consider drugs and alcohol as factors in this Washington accident.
They withheld the identity of the deceased while next-of-kin are being notified.
