Andre Hill Arrested in Fatal DUI Crash on Mountain Avenue in Selma
SELMA, CA (September 27, 2019) – A young woman was killed in a DUI crash Friday evening in Fresno County, authorities said.
The crash happened around 7:10 p.m. at Mountain View and Clovis avenues.
According to reports, a Honda Civic was heading westbound on Mountain View Avenue and crossing the intersection when a semi truck traveling north on Clovis Avenue blew through a stop sign and crashed into the Honda.
The impact was so severe that the semi continued through the intersection and crashed into another semi.
As a result of the crash, the Honda driver died at the scene. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Olivia Mendoza, 19, of Fresno.
Both semi truck drivers had minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
CHP officials say the trucker that hit the Honda, Andre Hill of Baltimore, Maryland, failed a sobriety test. They also say he was under the influence of marijuana.
Hill was booked in the Fresno County Jail with charges of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter, and a bail set at $98,500.
