YUBA COUNTY, CA (November 23, 2021) – Sunday night, an Olivehurst man died in a rollover crash on Highway 70 near Plumas Lake.
 
According to CHP officers, the 20-year-old Olivehurst man drove a Nissan 350Z with a 16-year-old male passenger. They traveled on the northbound lanes of Highway 70, north of Plumas Lake.
 
As the Nissan traveled fast, the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road. Then, the vehicle overturned multiple times. Eventually, the driver was partially ejected and sustained fatal injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the 16-year-old passenger managed to crawl out of the vehicle. Responders took him to Adventist Health + Rideout Hospital for treatment.
 
Moreover, a witness confirmed that the car traveled recklessly and they were struck by the car before it crashed.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t identified whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
