10 Freeway Collision Injures Driver
Los Angeles, CA (March 11, 2022) – On Thursday, two CHP officers and a driver sustained injuries in a wrong-way crash on 10 Freeway.
The traffic incident took place at about 2:15 a.m. on the freeway’s westbound lanes near La Cienega Boulevard.
Apparently, the authorities received a report about a wrong-way driver. Upon arrival on the scene, the officers tried to turn on their lights and sirens to stop him. However, it did not work. So they put their own vehicle in the path of the wrong-way vehicle.
“All I saw was the car crash into the highway patrol car, they were doing a traffic break, and then, bang, like that,” a witness said.
Immediately, the paramedics rushed the CHP officers to a hospital with minor injuries.
Also, the emergency team took the wrong-way driver to a hospital with major injuries. Reports say he was conscious and breathing when they loaded him into an ambulance.
Meanwhile, the officers are investigating if drugs or alcohol contributed to the situation.
