Officers Investigate Bakersfield Traffic Accident
Bakersfield, CA (July 29, 2023) – On Thursday night, two Bakersfield Police Department officers were injured in an East California Avenue vehicle collision.
The traffic accident took place at about 11:10 p.m. in the 300 block area.
According to the investigators, a BPD patrol vehicle occupied by two officers was eastbound when a Toyota Camry drove east from the south curb of California Avenue.
As a result, the Toyota collided with the patrol vehicle. Both vehicles were forced over the raised center median.
Immediately, the paramedics rushed the two officers to a hospital with minor injuries. Both of them were later released.
The Toyota driver did not sustain any injuries from the accident.
Officers said alcohol and drug impairment or speed are not factors in this accident.
