Car Occupants Injured in Traffic Collision in Rock Island
Rock Island, WA (May 6, 2023) – On Friday, the authorities cited 50-year-old Steven Ruiz of Soap Lake in a 3-vehicle collision on State Route 28 that injured two people.
WSP officers said Ruiz driving too fast when he rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped for flagger-controlled traffic. The vehicle was occupied by four people from Walla Walla.
The vehicle that Ruiz rear-ended was pushed into another vehicle occupied by a Pasco couple.
Two occupants in the car that Ruiz rear-ended were rushed to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Ruiz’s vehicle and the car he struck were totaled.
Meanwhile, Ruiz did not sustain injuries from the accident and was not wearing a seatbelt. The authorities cited him for speeding.
