Officers Arrest Uliezer De Jesus in Highway 43 Fatal Head-On Collision [Hanford, CA]

Crash North of Flint Avenue Kills 49-Year-Old Male Driver

Hanford, CA (October 18, 2022) – On Monday, the authorities arrested a Madera man, Uliezer De Jesus, 24, in a Highway 43 collision that killed a Bay Area man.

The deadly vehicle crash took place at 5:39 a.m. near Flint Avenue.

 The CHP said Uliezer De Jesus was southbound on the freeway in a Volkswagen Jetta north of Flint Avenue when he swerved into the northbound lane. 

Meanwhile, Oscar Escalera, 23, of Hanford, was driving a Hyundai in the northbound lane and drifted right onto the roadway shoulder to avoid De Jesus. 

Jose Santos Corona, 18, also from Hanford, was behind Escalera in a Chevrolet.  He collided head-on with Uliezer De Jesus. 

As a result, De Jesus lost control of the vehicle and struck the 49-year-old man from Bay Area who was driving a Volkswagen Passat. 

The Volkswagen driver sustained serious injuries and died at the hospital. Officers withheld his identity pending notification of kin.

Meanwhile, Uliezer De Jesus and his passenger, Abisua Princiliano, 19, also of Madera, incurred minor injuries. Escalera and Corona did not sustain injuries from the crash North of Flint Avenue.
