Shaver Lake Traffic Accident Kills Fresno Police Officer
Shaver Lake, CA (July 31, 2022) – On Saturday, Officer Steve Hunt sustained fatal injuries in a bicycle accident on McKinley Grove Road.
The fatal incident happened minutes past 10:30 a.m. near Wishon Campground.
According to the investigators, Hunt was northbound on the right-hand shoulder while a Toyota Tundra was southbound.
Suddenly, Hunt slid and was struck by the Toyota.
Unfortunately, Steve Hunt lost his life at the scene.
The Fresno Police Department says Hunt had been in the department since 1989. He is to retire at the end of August.
Additionally, the Fresno Cycling Club mentioned that Officer Hunt takes part in “Tour De Lakes”, an annual member’s ride.
