Oceanside Traffic Accident Injures Officer
Oceanside, CA (April 30, 2022) – On Friday morning, at about 6 a.m., an officer sustained injuries in an Interstate 5 accident.
Reports said the officer was driving her own vehicle when she noticed a semi-truck had lost two tires on the southbound freeway near the State Route 56 interchange
The authorities say the tires were starting to cause traffic backup, so the officer pulled and stepped out of her vehicle to help remove them.
However, while on the road, was struck by an oncoming vehicle driven by a 22-year-old Rancho Santa Margarita man.
Right away, the paramedics rushed the injured officer to a local hospital.
Moreover, officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. They did not take the driver into custody.
The authorities are still investigating the incident.
As a driver, it is your responsibility to be a proactive driver, rather than a reactive one. Moreover, driving defensively prepares you for emergencies.
