17-Year-Old Boy Arrested after Riverside Accident on Pierce Street and 91 Freeway
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 6, 2022) – Friday afternoon, an officer sustained injuries in a pursuit crash on Pierce Street and 91 Freeway.
At about 1:50 p.m., police located a stolen car on Ontario Avenue and Rimpau Avenue. Then, the driver didn’t stop and drove into a shopping center parking lot at Fullerton and Ontario avenues. Afterward, he hit a parked car and the front and end of the officer’s car
Afterward, the driver escaped and a pursuit began that spanned sections of both the 91 and 15 freeway. Then, the driver hit at least two innocent bystanders’ cars, as well as another officer’s vehicle.
Police Cpl. Tobias Kouroubacalis confirmed that one officer sustained unspecified injuries with non-life-threatening injuries.
Then, the pursuit ended on Pierce Street and the 91 Freeway through a PIT maneuver.
Also, the authorities arrested the 17-year-old driver on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, willfully resisting a police officer, and causing injury and possession of a stolen vehicle.
