CHP Officer Suffers Minor Injuries after Car Crashes into Patrol Vehicle near Marsh Street
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (November 26, 2018) – A San Luis Obispo CHP officer was injured Monday morning following a roadside emergency near Marsh Street. The victim was later identified as Officer Angela Molinar.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a driver had pulled into the center divider with a flat tire shortly before 11:00 AM. Officer Molinar arrived at the scene to assist the stranded motorist when her patrol SUV was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
The CHP Officer and the errant driver both suffered minor injuries. It is unknown whether or not the victims were transported to a hospital for treatment. Further updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately provided.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
