Motorcycle Catches on Fire after Collision in Modesto
MODESTO, CA (January 8, 2019) – 32-year-old Odisho Shabdin from Modesto was injured in a motorcycle accident on Briggsmore Avenue Tuesday around 1:00 PM.
According to Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear, Shabdin was driving his Yamaha west on Briggsmore at a high speed when he lost control and crashed east of Lakewood Avenue. Upon impact, the gas tank ruptured and caught on fire.
Modesto firefighters were able to extinguish the flames. Shabdin was transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. There has been no update on his current medical status.
There was no other vehicles known to be involved. The identity of the injured driver has not been released.
