SUV Driver Arrested for Suspected DUI Killing Motorcyclist at Elkhorn Boulevard
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (March 25, 2018) – A collision on Watt Avenue took the life of a motorcyclist, late Sunday afternoon, at the intersection of Watt Avenue and Elkhorn Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4:50 PM. Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies were patrolling when they came upon the motorcycle-SUV crash.
In the initial investigation, it was determined that the motorcycle was heading south on Watt when a blue SUV turning left into a parking lot directly hit the bike’s front. The impact of the collision seriously injured the rider, and he was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
Authorities arrested the SUV driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of either alcohol or drugs.
The identities of the victim and the SUV driver were not disclosed. CHP continues to investigate the case, and no other information is available at this time.
