DUI Suspect Arrested in 4-Vehicle Crash in North Highlands
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (November 27, 2018) – Two people were hospitalized following a DUI fiery crash Tuesday morning in North Highlands.
The crash happened around 7:08 a.m. at the intersection of Walerga Road and Kirkby Way.
According to the CHP North Sacramento area, four vehicles were involved, one of them had caught fire. Two patients were transported to a hospital, with one occupant being extricated from the burning vehicle.
One of the drivers was taken to Mercy San Juan Medical Center with major injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI and driving a stolen vehicle, according to the CHP log.
Further details regarding the other injured patients were not immediately available.
The entire northbound lanes and partial southbound lanes were blocked until around 8:20 a.m. while the investigation was being conducted.
